Pets, one more in the family (Part II)

Cleaning Probiotics, Ideal for a Home with Pets

    • Ventilate daily. Regardless of the temperature and season, all rooms should be aired daily. Pets require frequent contact with the outdoors. If we live in an apartment, it’s important to have a balcony or terrace and reserve a space for them, ensuring there’s no risk of falling. If we only have windows, there are devices so they can lean out safely.
    • Clean floors and avoid rugs. The most hygienic option for a home with pets is to avoid rugs, as they trap a lot of dirt and accumulate pet hair. The floor should be cleaned more frequently than usual, because is where our pets spend most of their time. It’s essential that the product we use is free of harmful chemicals and doesn’t contain bleach or ammonia, as these are harmful to the respiratory tract and skin. The best way to follow a good sweep is to use a mop or dust mop with a probiotic cleaner. These types of cleaners contain microorganisms and enzymes that break down dirt. Microorganisms remain active for a long time, neutralizing odors and being beneficial to living organisms. Wastewater is also excellent for keeping pipes clean and watering plants.
    • Sofas, beds, and armchairs: Ideally, pets should have their own resting space. Upholstery and bedspreads attract dirt and hair, so if your pets get on the sofa, it’s best to cover them with slipcovers or fabrics that are easy to clean in the washing machine. You can shake them out daily and wash them weekly or as needed.
    • Removing hair from fabrics and clothing: As a home remedy, you can use packing tape on the surface to adhere the hairs. An old sock, which you should cover your hand with before wiping it over the fabric, also works. Or, first use a deshedding glove with rubber prongs, then a deshedding roller, and finally a damp microfiber cloth.
    • Anti-odor tricks: There are many anti-odor tricks: apple cider vinegar, baking soda sprinkled at night on your pet’s favorite places, anti-odor candles… Probiotic air fresheners neutralize odors and don’t add any fragrance or scent; they simply provide a feeling of well-being and freshness. The same multipurpose cleaner can be sprayed anywhere as an air freshener, providing many benefits to the indoor air quality of our homes.
    • Vacuum frequently to prevent pet hair from settling and spreading. It’s essential to vacuum the entire house, including floors and upholstery. Having a small, powerful, and handy vacuum that’s always ready will make this task much easier.

So, if we apply these pet hygiene and care tips, along with those for our homes, we’ll enjoy a healthy and clean environment for all family members.
